GVC Westland Helicopters - March 2000

Laser Grafix were approached by Nottingham based company Quadrant Presentations to supply laser special effects for the reveal of the first of 65 WAH-64Apache helicopters. The event was held at GVC Westlands HQ in Yeovil, Somerset and was attended by the Secretary of State and various high ranking Armed Forces personnel.

The new helicopter was revealed from behind a black gauze with a multitude of generic, intelligent and laser lighting effects, making the reveal look more like a Formula 1 car roll out! It was manoeuvred out from behind the gauze screen by the Westland team responsible for the design and construction , they are known as "The Men in Black".

We provided a 10 watt full colour laser system used in conjunction with a multi position beam table and two fibre fed scanning heads positioned 50 m from the main central system.
