Hertsmere Leisure, Elstree, The Venue Leisure Centre

The "Live" exhibition at Alexandra Palace proved to be the meeting point for Laser Grafix who was met by Mark Young and Angela Speddy of Hertsmere Leisure. Mark and Angela had the task of providing a spectacular grand opening of the new Leisure and Swimming Centre Complex called the Venue in Elstree, just a stones throw from the famous studios.

Laser Grafix produced a spectacular Multi-media show within the swimming pool complex on two separate occasions, the first being for the VIP Opening evening and the second and most important, the General Public Grand Opening day some 2 weeks later.

Two 10-Watt Full Colour lasers and a 2.5-Watt DPSS laser were used to create striking aerial and beam effects onto and over the pool surface.

A Rain-Bar water curtain measuring 6m wide was used for the projection of animated laser effects onto. The effects were based around the popular Disney films "The Lion King" and "Fantasia", and were greatly appreciated by the younger generations on the public opening days.

In conjunction with the lasers, 4 x Mac 500's and 2 x Mac 600's were used to add atmosphere to the large expansive auditorium, and a 10K Sound system was installed for the playback of the show music.

All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable production.
