Julian Roberts London Fashion Week 2001 Autumn

The Natural History Museum in London was again the stage to host London Fashion Week, high profile models and designers descended upon this prestigious location in droves.

Fashion Designer Julian Roberts from the Fashion House, NothingNothing wanted to do something a little different, a little different from all the other shows held within the fabulous marquee structures set in the palatial grounds of the Natural History Museum.

Roberts contacted Laser Grafix to provide a striking image projection directly onto the front of the Museum itself, with his guests and media exposed to a 20 minute projected fashion show accompanied with ethnic and oriental electric drum machine ensemble.

As the daylight turned to dusk rhythmic drumming was audible to the on-looking crowd, uncertain as to what and how they were going to see the latest clothing accessories. Were these highly paid models about to strut their stuff on the steps, outside, in the cold!

Darkness fell, and on a cymbal crash a 15m square projection appeared directly onto the front of the museum, models draped in scarves and shawls appeared to dance rhythmically and seamlessly to the backing sound.

A truly different show, that at the end of the day broke with tradition and was one of the highlights of London fashion Week for all who witnessed the spectacle.
