Rolls Royce

In the heart of rural Bedfordshire, deep inside the Rolls Royce specialist manufacturing facility, the launch of a titanic product was due for launch. Many people may view Rolls Royce as the company who manufacture beautiful cars, technologically advanced aircraft engines, but few would know about how Rolls Royce produce some of the finest Pipe Line Pumps in the world.

In keeping with the style and history of Rolls Royce, the launch of the Pump needed to be spectacular, yet majestic, but with the sheer scale of the pump this was to be no mean feet!

The initial build was to construct a flown lighting truss grid above the pump itself; this would house the lighting fixtures and diffraction laser effect mirrors. The pump then had un-sheathed fibre optic cable attached to it, tracing around the prominent features of the pump, so that when the room fell into darkness the fibre was illuminated with a laser beam to make the fibre glow.

A black motorised gauze screen was also installed above the pump, and come show time would fall into place creating an invisible screen from which would be used to project laser logo effects onto.
